July 2007

I needn’t have worried about having to pay for shipping my dead DHP 300’s back to D-Link.  I just emailed back their RMA department explaining that the customer service rep on the phone said they’d pay for shipping, and got a quick and friendly reply back asking when the best time was for a courier to pick it up.  Apparently all you have to do is ask.

The old ones got picked up and the new ones sent to my office while I was on holidays.  I’ve plugged it all in and it’s working smoothly.  But only time (about five weeks it seems) will tell if this one will burn out too.  If it does I’m going to see if I can get my money back.  I don’t feel like doing RMAs every month.

More details on the trip forthcoming!

img_7592.jpgWe tried something new this year, avoiding the crowds rather than seeking them out.  Still celebrating Canada Day in public, but going to the smaller venue at Olympic Plaza rather than the huge one at Prince’s Island.  It was just perfect for our energy level and still every bit as celebratory.  Olympic Plaza will be packed later this evening as this year’s fireworks take place over City Hall (right next door) but we’re already at home going to bed.

They had a great little kids’ area set up with cars and crafts and bubbles and balls, one hotdog stand, and a couple of cafes with ice cream to end the evening.
