I got my absentee ballot today to vote in the U.S. elections.  It cracks me up every time I get one of these things–to see the strange things I’m able to vote for.  All I care about is the presidential vote, but here are some of the stranger positions I could influence if I so chose:

• Board members for the U of Michigan, Michigan State U, and Wayne State U.;
• Sheriff;
• County Clerk/Register of Deeds (I have no clue what that means!);
• I’ve seen something about the county librarian in the past, but that position isn’t on this year’s ballot;
• and my all-time favourite:  County Drain Commissioner!

Houses that are boring are a piece of poop.
Pretty houses are a girl’s dress.
And we live in a girl’s dress.

 

I have got the best commute of anyone in this city. Every season is the most beautiful.

Right now the fall colours are out in all their glory, and I couldn’t keep it all to myself so I brought the camera along last week and snapped a few shots on my way home.

Of course it’s a hundred times better when you see it in 360 degrees instead of 1024×768, but hopefully this at least gives you a taste of what my eyes get to devour every day.
